Chicago Writers Bloc

Chicago Writers' Bloc is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of new plays, providing a platform for playwrights to present their works through monthly sessions and regular festivals. In its 30 years of operation, the organization has supported over 100 new plays, many of which have gone on to be produced in the Chicago area and beyond.

Membership is open to those who have had a play receive a staged reading, workshop, or production at an established theater. Members have the opportunity to participate in annual short play festivals and semi-annual new play festivals, fostering a collaborative environment for playwrights to develop their scripts.
