History

Led by Founder and Artistic Director Mike O'Mara, an Evanston resident and teacher with more than 15 years teaching experience, etc Music School represents a new approach to musical and theatrical education, wherein private lessons, ensembles, classes and original productions at every level involve and respect the students' personal interests and ideas, striving to utilize them to foster motivation towards achieving students' artistic goals via organic, collaborative study and creative experimentation. In 2014, the etc. Music School was awarded the Evanston Mayor's Award for the Arts.

etc. Music School is a new kind of music and theatrical training experience dedicated to collaboration, team-learning, and confidence-building through affirming, creative training that respects and celebrates each student! In addition to offering theater classes for students of all ages, etc. also offers private lessons in Piano, Flute, Voice, Violin, Viola, Guitar, and Music Composition.
