St Charles Park District

Established in 1911, the St. Charles Park District coordinates, promotes and develops various recreational services and programs. The department maintains gyms, parks and playgrounds, prairies, wetlands, woodlands and sports fields. It offers a variety of recreational programs to schools, churches, businesses, civic groups and individuals. It organizes various activities, including camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, rock climbing, bird watching, biking, swimming and horseback riding. The district has received the National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management. The St. Charles Park District s facilities include Baker Community Center, East Side Sports Complex and Pottawatomie Golf Course. The district is located in St. Charles, Ill.
