HistoryIn 1978 Joann Krigbaum opened Joann's Metropole Barber Shop in the Metro Center in Peoria, Il. She had 5 women working for her of which 2 were her daughters. In 1988 she moved her barber shop to its current location 4928N. Hamilton Rd. Peoria, Il . She lost some barbers in the move. Then she had 3 daughters working with her. We have had a few new faces every now and then. January 2015 we lost our sister Kelly. Joann is now coming up on 83 and still works 3 days a week she still has 2 daughters working with her Kim Schilling and Kriste Eden. Our shop now has 7 barber stylist. Our two newest Yvonne and Karen do mens hair pieces .SpecialtiesMen and women's haircuts. We do high-n-tights (military ), flat tops and med. to long cuts for men. Women we do cuts, colors and perms.
