The Boone/Winnebago Regional Office of Education provides services to educators and school districts in Boone and Winnebago counties in northern Illinois. It provides general educational development and school bus driver training services. The office serves as a liaison between the Illinois State Board of Education certification evaluators and school districts personnel departments. The Boone/Winnebago Regional Office of Education coordinates regional spelling bee competitions every year. Its staff is comprised of a superintendent, office manager and grants bookkeeper. The office s teacher resource center offers specialized equipment to educators, including Internet access, banner makers and die-cut products. The Boone/Winnebago Regional Office of Education is located in Loves Park, Ill.

Located Dixon, Ill., Sauk Valley Community College has been operational for more than 55 years. A part of Public Community College District, it enrolls more than 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students annually. The college is approved by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. It offers majors in business administration, accounting, computer information systems, economics, humanities, early childhood, elementary and secondary education, and fine and liberal arts. The college also offers courses in English and creative writing, natural sciences, astronomy, mathematics, physical education, world history, geography, geology, sociology, anthropology, and criminal justice. Additionally, it provides vocational, technical, adult and continuing education in the areas of electronics, mechanical designing, manufacturing technology; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; quality control, emergency medical technician, radiologic technology and nurse assistant.

The Southern Will County Cooperative For Special Education, also known as SOWIC, offers instructional programs for early childhood students and students with emotional disorders, mental retardation, communication disorders and autism. It administers more than 10 school districts that provide special education programs and services for over 2,240 students with disabilities. The cooperative also offers the districts with support personnel including administrators, psychologists, social workers, speech/language therapists, occupational and physical therapists, a behavior and learning consultant. Additionally, it provides itinerant services for students with vision, hearing and physical disabilities. The Southern Will County Cooperative For Special Education offers early intervention screening services for children between the ages of three and five. founded in 1969, the cooperative is located in Joliet, Ill.
