Hodgson Mill, that was acquired by Siemer in 1988, makes a wide variety of consumer products including flours, meals, baking mixes, batter and breading mixes, and pastas. Then known as 'Hope Mills, Uptmor & Siemer, Proprietors,' the mill s name was changed to Siemer Milling Company when, in 1906, Joseph Siemer and his son bought out the Uptmor interests. Ventures that were related to the mills basic interests included heat-treating flour and introducing extenders and economic advantages for certain applications.
