Lincoln Memorial Hospital

Since 1970, Springfield Memorial Hospital has been a teaching hospital affiliated with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine for the purpose of providing clinical training for residents. Designated by The Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, SMH provides Memorial Heart and Vascular Services, Memorial Rehab Services, Emergency Services, Family Maternity, Regional Cancer Center, Regional Burn Center, Orthopedic Services, Memorial Behavioral Services and Memorial Transplant Services for area patients. SMH has earned four consecutive Magnet® designations from the American Nurses Credentialing Center for nursing excellence — an accomplishment so prestigious that only 2% of hospitals in the country have done it. SMH is part of Memorial Health, a community-based, non-profit organization that delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in support of our mission to improve the health of the people and communities we serve.

The Memorial Surgery Center creates the optimal patient experience by incorporating the latest patient amenities and surgical technology. The Surgery Center provides all services required to prepare and care for surgical patients. The DMH Surgery Center, a hospital department, is located on the first level of 304 West Hay Medical Office Building and offers an alternative location for surgery.

Memorial Rehab Services serves patients who also receive care from Neurology, Neurosurgery, Occupational Medicine, and Rehabilitation. We work with patients in the hospital and in outpatient settings. Our staff include experts in all forms of rehabilitation, and we work closely with community physician experts to diagnose, treat and research all aspects of neuromuscular conditions. We hold community outreach programs, and are available to provide professional education seminars on a variety of topics. We have specialized neurologic care units, CARF-accredited inpatient rehabilitation, home rehabilitation services, and a broad range of outpatient neurodiagnostic and therapy services in multiple clinic locations.
