Hines Primary School, founded in 1840, serves more than 500 students in prekindergarten through grade four. Located in Peoria, Ill., it offers a variety of academic courses, such as math, social studies, science, language arts and reading. The school also provides instruction in art, library skills, music and physical education. It offers extended-day reading, fine arts, character education, and before- and after-school care programs. The school s parent-teacher organization sponsors several fundraisers to provide resources for learning and family activities. Its fundraising activities include Box Tops for Education, market days and recycling projects. Hines Primary School is a part of Peoria Public Schools.
