Riverbank Neighbors is a community-driven initiative in Chicago that began in 1994, focused on the restoration and stewardship of the Chicago River's banks. Through collaborative efforts, local residents have transformed an eroded and littered space into an accessible area showcasing the region's ancient native ecosystem.

The project emphasizes environmental justice, inviting individuals of all ages, including artists and students, to participate in gardening, seed gathering, and ecosystem education. As stewards of the environment, Riverbank Neighbors actively works to adapt and respond to the challenges posed by climate change while fostering a beautified natural space for the community.
