Vernon! 2011 Landers Automotive Corporation In 1987 Roy Landers began doing collision repair in a small area at his parents home (Ray & Helen Landers) on Highway 161 in Centralia Illinois. He continued at that location for 2 years.In 1989 Roy moved the shop to a 60x40 building at his home on Rt. 37 South of Salem. The operation was at this location for a short time. It was later moved to the South side of Salem and incorporated, with Roy's brother Robert and Robert's wife Jeanne Landers sharing ownership. In 1993 the property at 2 Mills Cart Road was purchased. The Mills Cart Road location had the space to repair approximately 5 cars per week. Later remodeling expanded this location to its current capacity of 25 cars at any given time.In 1995 Landers purchased its first tow truck and launched the towing side of their business. The towing business grew as rapidly as the collision center grew. In 2003 the business purchased its first heavy duty semi tow truck and got involved in the heavy truck towing business.In December of 2006 Roy purchased all property and assets of Landers Automotive Corporation and became sole owner of the company. Realizing the need for more space, Roy purchased the property at 1862 Charleston Road in 2007 from the previous owner Robert Henne of Henne Construction. This location now houses Landers Heavy Truck Collision Repair Division.In June of 2009 Roy recognized a need for a collision center in the Mt Vernon Illinois area and the third location was underway by July of 2009. The current location at 218 East Main Street Mt Vernon Illinois is a 10,000 square foot complex capable of repairing 15 cars per week.Landers Automotive Corporation now employs twenty plus individuals and anticipates that number to grow to twenty five or more in 2010.As you can tell Landers Automotive Corporation will do whatever it takes to keep customer satisfaction high.
