I had asthma as a kid and a few ER visits. Fast forward to med school... I decided to pursue a pulmonary fellowship. Part of my training was dedicated to robotic bronchoscopy, and I was actually lucky enough to be the first one in southeast Missouri to perform the procedure. We've been doing it for over two years now, and I'm very excited to bring it to Mercy as well.

Dr. Youssef Shammaa is a board-certified physician specializing in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at SSM Health Medical Group in Mt. Vernon. He sees patients 18 years and older for conditions including lung and breathing disorders, including lung cancer and sleep disorders.

The SSM Health Medical Group's multi-specialty location at 2 Good Samaritan Way, Suite 420, in the Medical Plaza attached to SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital - Mt. Vernon and provides specialty services including gastroenterology, pulmonology, nephrology, and mental health.
