The Sycamore Park District, established in 1923, is involved in the acquisition and development of parks and open spaces. The district owns and manages athletic fields, wetland and woodland. Its parks offer opportunities to organize fitness classes, educational programs and trips. The Sycamore Park District also conducts music concerts. The district provides shelters on a rental basis. It operates a golf course, swimming pool and fitness center. The district operates Charley Laing Memorial Park, Sycamore Lake Rotary Park, and Elmer & Stanley Larson Playground. In addition, it provides swimming lessons. The Sycamore Park District is a member of the Kishwaukee Community Hospital Wellness Club.
