Uchicago Medicine AdventHealth New Day Center For Addictions Westmont

One of the first chemical dependency programs in Chicago's western suburbs, AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Hinsdale New Day Center has been recognized for its successful patient outcomes since 1978 and continues to be recognized today. New Day Center has two highly effective tracks within the program: either primary substance abuse or an Integrated Treatment Program (ITP) allowing primary mental health and secondary substance abuse diagnosis. At New Day Center, we offer two levels of care: Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): a highly structured daytime program that allows the patient to return home each evening, with a family program in the evenings Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): a structured daytime program that allows patients to participate depending on their structural needs and day-to-day responsibilities; patients who meet certain criteria can continue working during the day and participate in recovery during intensive evening sessions New Day Center has a firm commitment to the concept of chemical dependency as a disease of the family. As part of this commitment, we provide support and education twice per week for the designated family/support persons. Our family program is designed to educate patients and families about the disease of chemical dependency and how it affects everyone involved. Upon completion of our programs, patients and their families are eligible for our free two-year aftercare program. Approximately 360 people attend aftercare each week, including patients, spouses, significant others and family members. The first two years after treatment can be the most difficult time during recovery and we know that ongoing support is crucial when building a new sober lifestyle.
