Midwest Control Arms - Midwest Under Parts, also know as Midwest Foreign Auto Parts and Auto Parts Midwest, is a major Warehouse Distributor and Co-Manufacturer in the automotive aftermarket for both import and domestic auto parts. Over the years, we have become a major supplier of automotive parts in the Americas and most countries around the World. Midwest was established in 1980 by Bob Faut with the purchase of a Beck Arnley Jobber store in Des Plaines Illinois. In 1980, Midwest was totally devoted to import auto parts, however, over the years there was a gradual transition to both import and domestic auto parts with a strong emphasis on the Under Car environment. Bob followed basic business fundamentals that he had learned and developed while employed for a period of around eleven years at Xerox Corporation in the area of marketing and sales. Midwest's first venture into the domestic auto parts environment was with clutch components. We sold rebuilt domestic clutches from Borg Warner Corp. and rebuilt import clutches from Beck Arnley Corp. We later converted all the clutches from rebuilt to all new covers, discs, and bearings. Many of our clutch customers requested engine, motor, and transmission mounts to compliment the installation of the new clutch. We added mounts for both import and domestic vehicles and to this day we carry a very complete line of mounts which we acquire from major suppliers such as Anchor Industries. It was a natural transition to supply drive train components, u-joints, and the related products in the chassis and steering component environment. Our first venture in chassis and steering components was with McQuay-Norris Corporation. We stated with the tie rod ends, ball joints, drag links, idler arms, tie rod sleeves, pitman arms, and control arms. And today, we are one of the largest suppliers of control arms in the country. With the expansion of various suppliers such as Bendix by Honeywell and Inwood Automotive Products, we are capable of offering the highest quality Positive Molded brake pads available from a USA supplier. These positive molded brake pads come in either Ceramic or Semi-Metalic brake materials. In addition, we carry a Flash Molded brake pad from CBK in Canada. We then added brake shoes, calipers, hardware, rotors, drums, chemicals and lubricants to complete the brake line. In the early 1990's, the domestic automobile manufactures such as Chrysler, Ford and GM started producing a large quantity of front wheel drive vehicles. This required us to expand our product offerings in drive axles, hub bearings, bearings and wheel seals. Today, we carry around 450 wheel hubs and bearings in stock for import and domestic applications. Initially, we received many calls requesting BCA, National, Timken and SKF hub bearings. In most cases, our customer wanted a high quality hub with a value price. We complied with their desire and now have one of the most complete line of value hubs and bearings in our markets. In the late 1990's, we developed a business plan to meet the needs of our customers by becoming a full line Warehouse Distributor. This required the addition of many products.
