It is a place for hiking, biking, boating, canoeing and fishing activities. Liberty State Park offers a variety of programs for schools, colleges and organized groups. The park also provides professional development workshops for formal and informal educators. The interpretive center at the state park is an environmental and historical education facility that organizes exhibitions on the natural history and ecology of the park. The park is owned and operated by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
