A group of tri-state area optometrists formed an optometric referral center in Evansville, Indiana January 1988. In September of 1989, William G. Carey, M.D. and Stephan A. VanCleve, O.D. formed a professional partnership to expand the referral center concept of co-management, education, and consultation in conjunction with that optometric group. EyeCare Consultants continues to function by referral-only from the area optometrists. Appropriate ophthalmic disorders are co-managed when in the best interest of the patient. Regular educational functions are held for the referring doctors. Individual hands-on instruction has been a vital part of our service. Walter Egenmaier, O.D. joined the center in January 1993. Dr. Egenmaier possesses great instructional communication skills and has been a valuable asset to the center. Norman D. Radtke, M.D. provides state-of-the-art retinal services.
