HL Harshman Magnet Middle School

Harshman Middle School is an educational institution that offers a variety of academic and extracurricular programs for students in grade six through eight. It provides classes in math, English, science and physical education. The school follows the educational assessment guidelines of Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress (ISTEP). Harshman Middle School maintains several clubs, such as chess, cheerleading, Science Olympiad, HMS Viking News and Purdue Science Explorers. It organizes baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball, volleyball, wrestling, and track and field tournaments and matches. The school has research and media centers that enable students to conduct in-depth project investigations, as well as encourages reading for pleasure. Harshman Middle School is a part of Indianapolis Public Schools, which governs elementary, middle and high schools.
