Bitner, M.D. received his Bachelor of Science degree in molecular and cellular biology at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Medicine from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After his preliminary internal medicine year, he completed an ophthalmology residency at the Dean McGee Eye Institute, University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and then went on to complete a Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus Fellowship at the Duke University Eye Center in Durham, North Carolina. As a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist, Dr.

Austin L. Strohbehn, MD – Iowa Retina Specialist Austin L. Strohbehn, MD is a board-certified, fellowship trained retina specialist whose focus includes the medical and surgical management of retinal diseases including macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and retinal tears or detachment. Dr. Strohbehn joined Wolfe Eye Clinic in 2021 and sees patients at our Carroll, Des Moines, Fort Dodge, Spencer and Ottumwa office locations.

DR. DOUGLAS R. CASADY - OCULOFACIAL PLASTIC & RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY SPECIALIST Douglas Casady, M.D., F.A.C.S. came to Wolfe Eye Clinic in 2005 from his fellowship at the Lions Eye Institute, Albany Medical College in Slingerlands, New York. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Casady completed his residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital, Texas A&M University College of Medicine in Temple, Texas, where he was Chief Resident 2002-2003. Dr. Casady completed his Doctorate of Medicine at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He also holds a Master of Science degree from Creighton University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
