A. J. Merrick Manor, located in Fremont, Neb., is a facility of Fremont Area Medical Center. The manor is a more than 160-bed skilled care facility with private and semiprivate rooms and offers 24-hour nursing care. The facility is located in FAMC s main building for easy access to emergency, specialty or ancillary services. It offers residents an environment based on the Eden Alternative concept that integrates plants, animals and interaction with children for a more homelike atmosphere. The beds are Medicare certified and therapy services are offered inside the care facility. Additionally, nurses are available 24 hours a day. The residents are offered a range of activities, such as flower arranging, painting classes, individual art projects, games, discussion groups, music therapy, reading material, videos, educational presentations, exercises and outings.
