The Finance Department provides financial support services to the government and general public. The department encourages, develops and supports financial management and government accounting policies and practices. It provides oversight and guidance for the accounting, budget, research and treasury functions, as well as coordinates changes to the finance and budget software. The Finance Department coordinates the debt financing of all capital projects and reviews all applications in conjunction with the economic development department.
