Shawnee Police Department

The mission of the Shawnee Police Department is to protect the lives and property of the 50,000-plus citizens of Shawnee, Kan. The department has three divisions, including the patrol division, which offers district patrol, traffic law enforcement and crisis response; the investigations division, which investigates reported crime, computer crime, narcotics and many other cases; and the staff services division, which is responsible for crime prevention, police records and dispatch. In addition, the professional standards unit oversees all training within the department. The Shawnee Police Department has nearly 100 commissioned police officers and an additional 20 civilian staff members.
