Established in 1980, Prairie Center Elementary School offers educational programs to more than 400 students in kindergarten through grade six. The school offers instruction in reading, mathematics, spelling, language arts, social studies, science, art, writing and speech. Prairie Center Elementary School also offers the Title I program and special education classes. The school has a team of paraprofessionals and offers an accelerated reader program.
