Patricia S Todd, MD
Louisville native Dr. Patricia Todd fell in love with the field of dermatology during medical school. She found a passion for treating dermatologic conditions in children during her dermatology residency at Loyola in Chicago, Illinois. She got the opportunity to train at Boston Children's Hospital, pursuing a fellowship in pediatric dermatology. She returned to her hometown, with the goal of establishing a full-fledged pediatric dermatology clinic, which at the time did not exist in the city or state. After practicing with a mix of adults and children for three years, she joined University of Louisville's Department of Pediatrics and Norton Children's to provide full pediatric dermatology care for our community's kids. She has developed a philosophy of care over her years of practice that focuses on engaging with families in understanding and participating in management of their child's skin disease. She has found that good patient care requires trust between the physician and the patient and she feels that a good understanding of a particular diagnosis is as important as the treatment she provides. She is active within the Pediatric Dermatology Society and is passionate about improving racial disparities in healthcare.Dr. Todd treats all types of skin disorders, but is particularly interested in infantile hemangiomas, eczema and inflammatory skin disorders, including psoriasis and autoimmune disease. She has had training in excision of skin lesions as well as pulsed dye laser therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Bellarmine University and completed her medical training at the University of Louisville in 2012.
