Kentucky Cooperage, a division among the Independent Stave Company s businesses, produces whiskey barrels in Lebanon, Ky. Established in 1912 by T.W. Boswell, the Independent Stave Company s initial business was focused on white oak staves and heading for cooperages. By 1951, the company s founder expanded into the bourbon barrel business that later led to the establishment of its wine barrel division, World Cooperage. Since 1997, ISC has established its international subsidiaries to meet the demand for American oak.
