Nestor Veliz Tamayo, APRN

Cierra D. Thompson, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a nurse practitioner with Norton Children’s Medical Group. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner. Cierra earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Louisville and her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Cierra worked as a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit, caring for premature babies. As a nurse practitioner, she has experience treating children in outpatient settings and supporting patients with mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety. She chose a career in health care because she loves caring for others and finds joy in providing excellent care to those in need. Outside of work, Cierra enjoys spending time with her son. She also likes traveling, shopping, going to church, and being with family and friends.
