Laura J. Pope is a nurse practitioner specializing in cardiology, working in inpatient and outpatient settings. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, and her master’s degree in nursing from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. Laura started as a nurse’s aide with Norton Healthcare, then transitioned into a registered nurse role. She later became a family nurse practitioner and worked as a hospitalist for Norton Healthcare. Laura also is certified as an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. In her spare time, Laura is consumed with her two sons’ various practices and sporting events, and occasionally coaching them.

Becky S. Carothers, M.D., earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and a medical degree from the University of Louisville, where she also completed her pediatric residency. Dr. Carothers is board certified in pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Carothers loves practicing pediatrics because she believes that every child deserves to be healthy. A Louisville native, she loves spending time with her husband and three children and enjoys camping, running, playing tennis and traveling. Dr. Carothers has been voted by her peers as one of Louisville Magazine’s Top Docs for 2019.

Kate B. Prewitt, APRN, is a pediatric nurse practitioner with Norton Children’s Medical Group – Lakeview. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Bellarmine University and her master’s degree in nursing from Spalding University, both in Louisville. Kate has dedicated her career to caring for children and supporting families. After working as a mother-baby nurse, she chose to become a nurse practitioner to take a more active role in patient care. She also is a board-certified lactation consultant, helping mothers navigate breastfeeding and exploring various feeding strategies tailored to their needs. Kate’s philosophy of care is centered on providing a compassionate, supportive environment where patients and their families feel safe and valued. She strives to empower parents, helping them feel confident and supported in their parenting journey, whether they’re breastfeeding, bottle-feeding or using other methods to care for their child. Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with her husband, their twins, and their lively rescue dog. The family loves outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, and exploring parks and hiking trails. In her free moments, Kate likes to read and listen to Taylor Swift — she’s a big Swiftie!
