Community Hospice, located in Ashland, Ky., is an independent, nonprofit organization that offers a variety of social and welfare services to senior citizens throughout the state. The organization is certified by the Medicare and Medicaid. It provides routine registered nurse visits, emergency call assistance, and physician services that include a consultant, medical directors and nurse. It also offers social work services, and chaplain and spiritual care. The organization provides bereavement counseling, homemaker and home health aide, and also organizes special programs, such as physical, speech and occupational therapies. It also offers dietary counseling, prescription medications, and palliative radiation treatment of pain and symptom control.
