Victor J. Kremser, M.D., is a nonsurgical orthopedics and sports medicine physician with Norton Orthopedic Institute. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Lexington. He completed his residency in internal medicine at University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Chattanooga, and a fellowship in nonoperative sports medicine at American Sports Medicine Institute/ Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center, Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Kremser’s special interest in sports medicine began at a young age. As an athlete and a fan, he witnessed numerous sports-related injuries and was intrigued by the athletes’ road to recovery. He is originally from Cologne, Germany, and decided to pursue a career in sports medicine after a high school internship with the team physician for the NFL Europe Cologne Centurions football team. Dr. Kremser chose to become a physician in the United States after an experience as an exchange student in Bardstown, Kentucky, where he met his future wife and made lifelong friends. He has served as a team physician or provided medical coverage for several college and professional sports teams.

Jennifer Brey, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in pediatric orthopedics. Dr. Brey earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Brey is on staff at Norton Children’s Hospital and Norton Children’s Medical Center. She also has a clinical faculty appointment with the University of Louisville School of Medicine Department of Orthopedic Surgery. She is currently the medical provider for the Western High School Warriors athletic teams. She is a founding member of the Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine (PRiSM) society and is active in research regarding meniscus tears, ACL injuries, cartilage injuries, and knee fractures in pediatric and adolescent athletes. Many of Dr. Brey’s former patients are now playing or have played at the high school and collegiate levels. A native of Louisville, Dr. Brey has been practicing in her hometown since 2011. Away from the office, she and her family enjoy UofL athletics, where Dr. Brey earned four varsity letters in swimming. Dr. Brey is a member of U.S. Masters Swimming and USA Triathlon. She is a multiple-time Ironman finisher and competed at the Ironman World Championships in 2022.

Justin M Givens, MD

Justin Givens, M.D., is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of shoulder and elbow conditions in adults and children. Dr. Givens performs an array of shoulder and elbow procedures including muscle sparing shoulder replacement, complex shoulder arthroplasty, rotator cuff surgery, labral procedures, elbow replacement, and other revision, reconstruction and sports procedures. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville in 2017 while also completing his residency training there in 2022. Dr. Givens completed his shoulder and elbow fellowship in Tampa, FL at the Florida Orthopedic Institute with world renowned surgeons Dr. Mark Frankle and Dr. Mark Mighell. He then completed extended training in treatment of knee/sports training including ACL, meniscus, cartilage and other sports procedures of the knee. Dr. Givens’ mission is to provided top of the line care with a focus on the patient’s goals and returning to everyday life as soon as possible. He will be one of the only providers in the state, and region, performing muscle sparing shoulder replacement( SWAT-subscapularis window anatomic total) to ensure patients are out of their slings in less than 2 weeks for the majority of shoulder replacement patients. He is actively involved in research focusing on complex revision techniques, cutting edge technological advances and expediting recovery in shoulder and elbow surgery. In his free time Dr. Givens enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his children’s youth sports teams, being active in his church, traveling and performing Olympic weightlifting and CrossFit workouts.
