Max J. Derbes, Inc has evolved over the past 80 years into a firm that specializes in the selling and leasing of industrial and office real estate as well as having an expertise in the specific area of marine and petrochemical real estate. Located in Elmwood, New Orleans' largest business and industrial park, representatives of our company are in constant communication with various industrial and commercial users serving the Metropolitan New Orleans area and adjoining Southeastern U.S. markets. Every member of our brokerage team is either professionally designated or is a candidate for a designation. Four members of our brokerage staff are designated as SIOR's ( Society of Industrial and Office Realtors ). The remaining brokerage team includes individuals who are either designated as a CCIM ( Certified Commercial Investment Members ) or are candidates. Efficient, modern business practices have continued to keep Max J. Derbes, Inc a leader in industrial and commercial brokerage in the Metropolitan New Orleans area. From an personnel stand point, the firm is small, comprising only twelve individuals, seven licensed agents, a licensed and designated property manager, a licensed appraiser and three staff personnel. However, the degree of professional service to the public is unmatched by any other real estate company. Sales and leasing achievement awards have followed members of this firm since their various inceptions. The brokerage team has won every available industrial achievement award as well as other commercial awards, multiple times, as offered by the local board of Realtors and its Commercial Investment Division. On occasion, the Team has garnered all industrial achievement awards. Real estate brokerage and marketing comprises only a portion of Max J. Derbes, Inc The Firm also provides full service property management and currently manages approximately 800, 000 s.f. of industrial, commercial and office properties throughout the metropolitan area. The Property Management Division is headed by a full time property manager. New Orleans mourned the recent passing of our founder Max J. Derbes, III. Max had been suffering from cancer and succumbed on February 13, 2008. Max started working in his father's firm and soon was running the company's Industrial Division before purchasing it in 1978. In 1979, he opened Max J. Derbes, Inc, as a full service firm specializing in industrial and commercial real estate.
