HistoryThe business seemed like a natural thing to do when I decided to move. I've done so much pet sitting and training on the side for so many years and had though several times about trying it full-time. What I love about doing this, aside from getting paid to hang out with animals, is that I get to help ease the stress, guilt, and tension that arise from long hours at work or an easily fixed but persistent behavior problem. These feelings can erode peoples' relationships with their pets. I get to help restore those relationships to what they should be.SpecialtiesGrand Pet Care and Training offers: daily mid-day walks with or without leash training, playtime, and trips for dogs; pet care visits for dogs, cats, or any kind of critter while you're away; in-home dog training; and assistance with minor at-home medical treatments, ear cleaning, and nail trims for dogs and cats. I am new to Maine but worked as a veterinary assistant for nearly six years in New York and did quite a bit of pet sitting on the side. I am also an ABC certified dog trainer and am now licensed, bonded and insured to provide these services in the greater Portland area. Plenty of references available upon request.
