Hirundo Wildlife Refuge is 2,460 acres of conserved woodlands and wetlands just West of Old Town, Maine dedicated to preserving nature while providing educational, and recreational opportunities to the public. Hirundo offers: - 7+ Miles of Trails (including interpretive trails + a dedicated Kid's Trail + our Universal All Access 'Trail of the Senses' for mobility and sensory impaired communities) - River Access + Boat Launch (non-motorized only) - Geocaching - Public Programs for all Ages - Free + Paid Rental Programs for Canoes, Kayaks, and Snowshoes - Shelter + Facilities Rentals for Private Retreats, B-day Parties etc. - Field Trips and Guided Programs for Schools, Scouts, and Groups Hirundo is open daily from dawn to dusk and provides parking access, bathroom facilities, and picnic tables Please: No Dogs, No Smoking, No Bikes except on main access road.
