Centuries ago, the Abenaki gave the Kennebec River its name, which means "long level water." In the 17th century, sailors called Bath?s three-mile stretch of river the "Long Reach," as it provided deep anchorage and good landing sites, and allowed them to sail the stretch without tacking. Enjoy a relaxing lunch or dinner as you watch the activity on the waterfront unfold, or entertain guests in Seguin Hall, our private function room named for Seguin Island Lighthouse, the "Guardian of the Kennebec."
