Amy DeZern, MD

As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences, I specialize in palliative radiation oncology with a focus on improving access to high-quality, compassionate care for patients with advanced cancer. I am the founder and director of the Palliative Radiation and Supportive Medicine (PRISM) Service, a program dedicated to enhancing the role of radiation therapy in symptom management and end-of-life care. In addition, I am part of our breast radiation oncology team, and I guide clinical care and treatment strategies for patients with breast cancer at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. My clinical efforts center on expanding access to palliative radiation through infrastructural development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative treatment approaches. I am deeply committed to advancing health equity and addressing disparities in cancer care delivery. My work also seeks to bridge the gap between radiation oncology and the health humanities, fostering a more holistic, human-centered approach to clinical practice that supports the emotional, social, and cultural dimensions of patient care.

Dr. Kleinberg specializes in the radiation treatments, including stereotactic radiosurgery, of brain and spinal tumors. Areas of research include both tumors arising in the central nervous system and tumors metastasizing from other locations. He also specializes in the treatment of esophageal tumors and has led national clinical trials in both therapy of brain tumors as well as esophageal cancer.Dr. Kleinberg has been recently named in the US News and World Report list of top 1% of doctors in his specialty. He is the co-chair of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Brain Tumor Working Group, Vice-Chair of the NCI Cooperative Group Steering Committee for Esophageal and Gastric Tumors, and is a member of the NCI Cooperative Group Steering Committee for Gastrointestinal Tumors. Dr. Webster is an Assistant Professor of Oncology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is active in the Division of Hematology Malignancies, Leukemia Program at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins.Dr. Webster has expertise in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS).Dr. Webster received his medical degree from The Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins followed by a fellowship in medical oncology. He completed the Science of Clinical Investigation curriculum at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public health.Dr. Webster is a member of the American Society of Hematology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.Dr. Webster’s research activities consist of designing and conducting clinical trials that test investigational new therapies and approaches in the treatment of acute leukemias (ALL and AML). He has specific expertise in the use of maintenance therapies following bone marrow transplantation. He has developed novel clinical trials utilizing immunotherapy for the treatment of ALL and the prevention of post-transplant relapse in both ALL and AML. He serves as the Principal Investigator for these trials of post-transplant maintenance strategies, as well as the site PI for multi-center trials that are currently being conducted through the Eastern Co-operative Oncology Group (ECOG)-ACRIN and Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network (ETCTN). As the leader of the adult ALL program at Johns Hopkins, he has focused on increasing clinical trial enrollments and improving outcomes in adult ALL.
