Founded in 1965, The Mental Health Association of Frederick County is a private nonprofit organization that offers services for mentally disabled individuals. The association provides information, referral, education and counseling services. It also conducts workshops and training programs on a variety of issues, such as stress and anger management, depression and suicide prevention. The Mental Health Association of Frederick County also offers child abuse prevention programs. It maintains a child care resource room that features a library with books, magazines, videos and reference materials on child-related topic. The association additionally organizes classes for parents for childhood growth and development, managing stress and change, and creative discipline and child training.
