In 1975, the Executive Child Development Center originally started as Parents of Preschoolers. As the need for before and after school care for children in elementary school became critical for working families, an after school program was established to accommodate nearly 20 children at the Arylawn Elementary School. Additional after school programs and preschool programs were established to provide childcare services for more than 100 children. ECDC provides a nurturing and safe environment where children get to play games, learn new skills and talk with friends. The company offers a curriculum program that allows children to learn at their own rate and make their own choices. There is a range of activities that include sports, games, long-term activities and projects generated by the children's needs, interests and abilities. The Executive Child Development Center s Rockville, Md., headquarters can serve nearly 300 children.
