Constance L. Monitto, MD

Dr. R. Samuel Mayer is an associate professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His clinical interests include complications of critical illness, spine disorders, pain management, disorders of muscle tone and cancer rehabilitation. Dr. Mayer serves as the director of cancer rehabilitation, director of undergraduate medical education and residency program director for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He graduated from the honors program in medical education at Northwestern University School of Medicine and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Rush Medical College. He was chair of the Committee on Medical Education for the American Medical Student Association while he was a medical student. After completing his residency, he remained on faculty at Rush Medical College, eventually becoming the residency program director and acting chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He joined the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins in 2001. Dr. Mayer serves as director of the Medical Student Summer Clinical Experience in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for the Association of Academic Physiatrists. He is Editor in Chief of Knowledge NOW, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation's online encyclopedia of the field. In 2014, he was named Distinguished Clinician by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Mitchell Goldstein is an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His area of clinical expertise is pediatric emergency medicine, with a particular focus on child abuse and neglect service. As director of the Johns Hopkins Child Protection Team, Dr. Goldstein provides medical consultation to physicians, attorneys and social workers regarding children suspected of being maltreated. He currently works with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to develop a model system of medical consultation to children with suspicion of maltreatment. Dr. Goldstein is a member of the Maryland Academy of Pediatrics Child Abuse Subcommittee, where he often speaks about issues related to abusive head trauma. Dr. Goldstein holds a B.S. in biology from Franklin and Marshall College. He received his M.D. from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha in 1995. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1998, and joined the Hopkins faculty in 1999. Dr. Goldstein earned an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 2005.In 2010, Dr. Goldstein won the George J. Stuart Award for Outstanding Clinical Teaching at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is actively involved in all aspects of pediatric residency training and serves as a resident advisor, member of the intern selection committee and curriculum committee.

Ahizechukwu C Eke, M.B. ChB., Ph.D., M.P.H., is a specialist in maternal-fetal medicine with areas of clinical and research expertise in medical and surgical complications of pregnancy with a focus on prediction and prevention of preterm birth, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacogenomics, pharmacomicrobiomics, maternal-fetal medicine, multiple pregnancies, obstetric ultrasound and HIV in pregnancy.Dr. Eke earned his undergraduate degree from Federal Government College, Wukari, Taraba State, Nigeria, and his medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Calabar, Nigeria. He completed two obstetrics and gynecology residencies – at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria (2005-2010) and at Michigan State University/Sparrow Hospital, which he completed in 2016, and then completed Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology fellowships at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland in 2019. He earned an MPH from the Harvard University School of Public Health in 2011, and a PhD in Clinical Investigation from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health Graduate Training Program in Clinical Investigation (GTPCI) in 2021. He joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2019.Dr. Eke serves on a number of national and international boards and committees. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), Delta Omega Alpha (DOA), the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), the American Public Health Association (APHA), the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), and the Infectious Disease Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He currently serves on the Committee on Practice Bulletins (CPG) of ACOG, and is a member of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) committee on 'Developing a framework to address legal, ethical, regulatory, and policy issues for research specific to pregnant and lactating Persons'. Dr. Eke is an editorial board member of Obstetrics and Gynecology (the Green Journal) and the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM Evidence). He is an active member of NIH study sections.Dr. Eke has published several articles in obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine journals, and written numerous textbook chapters. He is a journal reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals in his specialty, including Obstetrics & Gynecology (Green Journal), American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Gray Journal), and the International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
