Headquartered in Lanham, Maryland, a Washington, DC suburb, Direct Pharmacy Service, Inc was founded in 1994. Its founders recognized the opportunity in the burgeoning mail order pharmacy industry. Using their expertise and years of experience in Federal government lobbying and pharmacy, they established relationships within Federal government departments that wished to begin providing mail order pharmacy service to their employees. Today, those relationships with public entities are intact and have grown to include private employers, labor unions, insurance carriers and managed care organizations. With the rising costs of healthcare, the desire to lower the cost of prescription drugs has become a top priority for public and private employers. Based on years of industry experience, our company is uniquely qualified to help companies lower drug spending and provide excellent service to their employees, while also providing the personalized client service that our small business is known for and our clients deserve. Acquiring and establishing a mail order pharmacy fulfillment facility and servicing our clients and their members with an experienced team of industry professionals has been the key to our success in the mail order industry. In an effort to offer full service, one-stop shopping to clients, we also have multiple partner agreements with PBM service providers. These arrangements allow us to offer a wide range of services to our clients and provide us with the greatest flexibility in creating tailored, cost effective solutions. Direct Pharmacy Service is certified as a Small Disadvantaged Business ( SDB ) under the U.S. Small Business Administration ( SBA ) guidelines. We also hold certifications from the States of Maryland and Tennessee as a Minority/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise ( MBE/DBE ) and as an MBE with the National Minority Supplier Development Council. Our Business We provide mail order pharmacy service from our mail order facility in south Florida which offers dedicated customer care and professional clinical management staff. In conjunction with our PBM partners, Direct Pharmacy Service can provide PBM service with state-of-the-art claims processing, drug utilization reports, 24-hour help desk, disease state management, benefit design, formulary management, network development, and health informatics.
