Laurel Police Department
Located in Laurel, Md., the Laurel Police Department protects residents lives and property, maintains peace and order and deters crime through education, prevention and proactive police services. It is internationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. The Laurel Police Department maintains a patrol division that provides uniformed patrol, crime prevention, emergency incident response, accident investigation, traffic laws enforcement, and ordinance and statute enforcement services. The department also has investigative, services and specialized functions divisions. The Laurel Police Department operates the Emergency Response Team (ERT), which deals with high-risk and dangerous situations, including barricaded persons, high-risk warrant arrests, explosive devices and heavily-armed criminals.
