Founded in 1961, the Providence Center provides a variety of services for individuals with disabilities. The center serves more than 450 adults in over seven locations throughout Anne Arundel County, Md. It offers vocational training, sheltered and supported employment, job development and placement, adult day care, senior citizen retirement support and in-home services. Located in Glen Burnie, Md., the Providence Center supports various leisure and recreational programs. The center additionally operates an art institute that provides professional and integrated instruction in visual and performing arts. In addition, it operates a resource center that features a range of programs that include instruction and opportunities in special interest, daytime entertaining activities and excursions.
