Kelly Seidler, OD

Bradley A. Salus is an optometrist and assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Frederick and Bethesda, Maryland, locations of the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine. His areas of emphasis include comprehensive eye care, specialty contact lens fitting, ocular surface disease and dry eye, glaucoma management, and ocular pathology triaging and management. Dr. Salus obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical and biological engineering at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He was a chemical engineer for five years in the Greater Salt Lake City area before returning to graduate school to pursue his career interest in optometry. He completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University in Fullerton, graduating as the class of 2023 salutatorian. He was the Wilmer Eye Institute’s inaugural optometry resident in primary eye care, with an emphasis in specialty contact lenses from 2023–2024. His approach to patient care is being thorough and compassionate, emphasizing patient communication and evidence-based approaches for treatment and management decision-making.

Rachel Druckenbrod joined The Wilmer Eye Institute in 2025 as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology after spending a decade with the Boston VA Healthcare System. A graduate of the New England College of Optometry, she remains committed to ophthalmic education as Adjunct Associate Professor of Optometry at NECO where she teaches an annual course in neuro-ophthalmic disease. In 2021, she co-authored a textbook titled Clinical Medicine for Optometrists and has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Druckenbrod has a strong background in clinical teaching and research, though her greatest passion is clinical patient care. She is motivated by improving the visual prognosis and functionality of patients with both straightforward and complex ophthalmic needs.

Katharine Funari, O.D., M.P.H., is a pediatric optometrist caring for patients in Bethesda, Maryland. She specializes in vision care for disorders of strabismus, amblyopia (lazy eye) and convergence insufficiency. She has particular interest in myopia control methods of orthokeratology, atropine therapy and multifocal contact lenses. Other interests include acquired brain injury including concussion and vision rehabilitation. Along with surgical specialists, Dr. Funari co-manages the treatment of strabismus, cataracts, glaucoma and retinal disease. She also provides comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages and has additional experience with contact lens fittings and emergency eye care in the treatment of uveitis, corneal ulcers and conjunctivitis. Dr. Funari received her Bachelor of Science degree from Villanova University. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, where she was awarded clinical honors and the Good-Lite Award for advanced competency in binocular vision and pediatric vision care. She received additional training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center; Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina; and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, both in Philadelphia.
