Everything is great about this park. First, it's huge. There's are numerous playgrounds and a plethora of trails. I recommend stopping by the nature center and seeing the owls. They are too cute....

Located in Sykesville, Md., Piney Run Park offers a range of recreational options. The park features a lake that spreads across an area of more than 300 acres. It maintains boat ramps for launching vessels. The park offers boats and other necessary accessories on a rental basis. Piney Run Park organizes a variety of fishing tournaments throughout the year. It also supports a fishery by providing several fish species that include largemouth bass, redear sunfish, bluegill, yellow perch and channel catfish. In addition, the park operates Put-And-Take trout program. Piney Run Park is owned and operated by the Carroll County Department of Parks and Recreation.
