Nyall London has a unique clinical practice focused on the care of patients with sinonasal and skull base cancers. As one of the few surgeons trained in both head and neck cancer surgery, as well as rhinology and skull base surgery, he offers patients comprehensive sinonasal tumor surgical care, including open and endoscopic approaches as well as neck dissection surgery. Dr. London has developed notable patient education events about the multidisciplinary and long-term care of patients with sinonasal malignancies. Additionally, he is an innovator of clinical trials for these rare tumors, with open clinical trial options available and multiple others in development. Internationally recognized for his expertise in the care of patients with sinonasal and skull base cancers, Dr. London was an associate editor for the first international consensus statement on sinonasal tumors, and was appointed president of the International Network for Sinonasal Cancer Research (2024–26). He directs a research laboratory at the National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health focused on therapeutic advances and mechanisms of sinonasal tumorigenesis. Dr. London has published more than 130 peer-reviewed research articles, reviews and book chapters, including co-first author publications in Nature, Nature Medicine, Science Translational Medicine and Nature Cell Biology. He earned his medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Utah, and completed his residency in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at Johns Hopkins. He also accomplished a fellowship in open and endoscopic head and neck and skull base surgery at The Ohio State University, under the direction of Dr. Ricardo Carrau.

Deepa Galaiya is a fellowship-trained neurotologist and lateral skull base surgeon. Her clinical practice specializes in the surgical and medical treatment of middle ear, inner ear, skull base, and facial nerve disorders in children and adults. This includes treatment of skull base tumors, vestibular schwannomas (or acoustic neuromas), cochlear implants, chronic ear disease, hearing loss, cholesteatomas, otosclerosis, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, and eardrum perforations. She is trained in endoscopic ear surgery, a minimally invasive approach to treat cholesteatoma and eardrum perforations that reduce the need for visible incisions. She will be serving the patient population in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., metro areas. Dr. Galaiya’s research interests include the development of a force-sensing microforceps for cochlear implantation to assess electrode insertion, tip foldover, and basilar membrane rupture. Her other projects involve computer vision for surgical navigation, tool-to-tissue registration for robotic temporal bone surgery, optimization of surgical ergonomics, and assessment of forces used in middle ear prosthesis placement with a cooperative control robotic arm.This provider is registered with the Florida Department of Health to perform telehealth services for patients in Florida.

Wojtek Mydlarz, director of Johns Hopkins Head and Neck Surgery in the National Capital Region, specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck, including the upper aerodigestive tract, salivary glands, skull base, thyroid, skin and soft tissue. Dr. Mydlarz is a medical officer and a clinical and research collaborator in the head and neck surgery branch of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). His research interests include evaluating both surgical and nonsurgical treatment outcomes in patients with head and neck cancer. He is interested in the complex molecular biology of head and neck cancer, as well as potential clinical applications of novel targeted cancer therapies. He is actively involved in clinical trial development and implementation at the NIH and Johns Hopkins. After earning his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Dr. Mydlarz completed his internship and residency in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Additionally, he completed a Science of Clinical Investigation Training Program at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and specialized fellowship training in head and neck surgical oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Mydlarz has contributed to numerous professional publications, authored a variety of articles and book chapters, and has been invited to give many lectures. He serves on the editorial board for Oral Oncology and Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, and is a journal reviewer for Oral Oncology, Head and Neck, Laryngoscope and JAMA Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
