Very Vineyard Clothing represents a fresh approach to batik, based out of Edgartown Martha's Vineyard. Designer and owner, Carol Lattmann, believes in classic, yet contemporary, fun and full of comfort rayon challis sportswear and dressesit's all about looking and feeling good. While at Cornell pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture, Carol found herself attracted to printmaking and textiles courses. It came as no surprise that Carol went to Indonesia, where she began to work with traditional batik makers to conjure up her signature style that we all know as Very Vineyard. The flagship store, "Very Vineyard, " was opened in 1987 in historic Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard. She began designing clothing for the store in 1991 and distributing to other stores in 1993.
