The Michigan Freedom Center, located at Detroit Metro Airport, has been providing free and welcoming military lounges for active military members and veterans since November 11, 2011. With a mission to honor and support service members and their families, the center celebrated serving its one millionth guest in February 2025.

Offering a space for rest and reflection for those in transit, the Freedom Center also aids families of fallen heroes during their final journeys. Through various events and community support initiatives, including an annual golf outing, the center continues to elevate awareness and appreciation for the sacrifices made by military personnel and their loved ones.
