The Ingham County Road Commission is responsible for more than 1,200 miles of roads outside incorporated cities and villages throughout Ingham County, Mich. It employs more than 90 staff members and utilizes over 450 pieces of equipment. The commission clears snow and undertakes repair projects. In addition, the Ingham County Road Commission is responsible for traffic signals, flashing beacons, bridges, road signs and culverts within the county. It offers a variety of services, such as dust control on gravel roads, roadside mowing, pavement markings, pothole patching, and designing of roads and bridges. Located in Mason, Mich., the commission also performs duties related to construction inspection, plat review, traffic studies, accounting procedures and union negotiations.
