Heart of West Michigan United Way is a nonprofit organization that provides childhood development and literacy programs. Located in Grand Rapids, Mich., the organization has partnerships with the Boy Scouts of America, Camp Tall Turf and Child & Family Resource Council. It conducts parenting skills sessions and offers career development services for women. Heart of West Michigan United Way provides in-home care and support services for senior citizens. The organization offers recruiting and training services for reading tutors to work with elementary students in grades one through three in more than 10 schools. It operates Young Leaders Society, a program that recognizes merging leaders in the community.

Fremont Area Community Foundation is a public charity and community foundation serving the Newaygo County, Michigan area. The mission of the Foundation is to improve the quality of life for the people of Newaygo County. The Foundation started as the private Fremont Foundation in 1951. 20 years later the Foundation was reorganized into its current legal structure as a public community foundation. The Foundation is comprised of more than 400 separate funds, including two supporting organizations and three geographic affiliates, the Mecosta County Community Foundation, the Osceola County Community Foundation, and the Lake County Community Foundation.
