Pollard Banknote s current business derives almost exclusively from providing products and related services to lotteries, including instant tickets, break open/pull tab tickets, promotional games, pull tab vending machines, instant ticket vending machines and lottery management services. The company s roots trace back to 1907, when commercial printer Saults & Pollard first opened for business in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In the mid-1970s the company shifted into security printing, a move that meant the production of stamps, stocks and bonds and government documents. In August 2005 Pollard Banknote a private, family-owned business since its founding went public, a change that simply strengthens the company s commitment to the lottery industry and enhances its ability to continue to expand and compete. Although it was a major step for Pollard Banknote, the Pollard family remains in control of the new entity with a majority ownership position.
