Portage Community Education Ctr

Haverhill Elementary School enrolls students in prekindergarten through grade five and provides several intellectual, physical, emotional and social development opportunities. The school s academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as language arts, English, mathematics, social studies and science. It also provides instruction in music, art, physical education and media skills. The school offers Title I, accelerated reader and summer library programs. It involves students in a range of extracurricular activities, such as science fairs, student assemblies, talent shows, PowerPoint projects, student council, winter concerts and field trips. The school has a parent-teacher organization that conducts several events, including Box Tops for Education, book fairs and ice cream socials. Haverhill Elementary School is located in Portage, Mich., and is a part of Portage Public Schools.

Amberly Elementary School serves 592 students including Early Childhood, YoungFives and kindergarten through fifth grade. Our school houses the regular education program for students who live in the Amberly attendance area, including two resource rooms for students with special educational needs.
