MPRO, also known as The Michigan Peer Review Organization, is a nonprofit corporation that provides health care services and Medicare- and Medicaid-certified programs. The corporation was established in 1984 and is located in Farmington Hills, Mich. It provides managed care operations, research methodologies and data analysis. MPRO offers various programs, such as continuing education and hospital quality improvement projects. The organization also offers programs for improving care and patient safety in home health settings. It is also known as the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization and protects rights of Medicare beneficiaries. It is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Michigan Nurses Association. The organization has more than 120 professionals and a network of credentialed clinical reviewers. Additionally, it operates a subsidiary that provides long-term care services to hospitals and home health agencies.
