Richmond Area Historical & Geneological Society

The Richmond Area Historical and Genealogical Society (RAHGS) is a non-profit organization established in January 1990 with a mission to preserve local history, beginning with a 19th Century one-room schoolhouse. Over the years, the Society has successfully relocated and restored several historic buildings, including a former Grand Trunk Railroad Depot and a log cabin, creating a vibrant Historic Village in Bailey Park.

In addition to preserving these structures, RAHGS engages the community with various projects and events, such as the annual Heritage Festival and educational programs. The Society also maintains an office and storage space through a replica blacksmith shop, further enriching the historical experience for visitors and members alike.
